Kathleen Morrone, a successful and poised interior designer, has worked on many challenging yet rewarding projects in partnership with architects, builders, and landscape designers throughout Connecticut. Her design studio, Morrone Studio Indesign, is an innovative and diversified full-service design practice that includes high-end residential design, new construction and remodeling, out-door living spaces, office design and complete home site development. She is a practicing IDS professional and contractor with 18 years in the interior design and construction business.
Kathleen is the only designer in the area that brings over 15 years of experience from the demanding discipline of fashion design to the world of interiors. As a fashion designer she worked for haute couturiers, Christian Dior, Oscar de la Renta, where she learned “the true value of design is found only in the clients’ vision”.
Kathleen is committed to a holistic approach in design. Her design focuses on architectural features, bespoke cabinetry and furnishings, fabrics, color, scale and proportion by marrying the interior environment with the exterior setting. Combined with the latest in technology and green design, the result is a dependable, state of the art dwelling.
Drawing on her vast number of suppliers, sources, and skilled artisans, Kathleen, above all else, is energetic and persistent in making sure she will create the best possible design for you. Caring about your project is her competitive advantage and it is an advantage that takes a lot effort which will certainly emerge in the design of your home. Furthermore, how you feel about it is important to her.
A little more about me;
At the age of 9, I started sewing and making patterns for my doll’s clothes and it wasn’t long before I started creating coats, suits and bed linens. As a teenager, I was staying home sewing instead of going out to parties, an obvious foreshadowing of everything design incorporates.
My philosophy towards Life and Design; both are made of choices.
Either you happily recommend the best option for your client, or you give preference to your own items first.
Either you believe in what you sell, or you don't.
Either you treat your best partners better, or you treat everyone the same.
Either you shade the truth when it's painful to do otherwise, or you consistently share what's important.
Either you always keep your promises or you don't.
Either you give the best price the first time, or you make the buyer jump through hoops to get there.
Unless someone cares, things start to fray around the edges....I care.
...which is precisely what makes it valuable.
In my down time? I love gardening, spending time with my kids, going to their tennis tournaments and helping others make changes toward healthier, organic, and holistic lifestyles.
"Interior design is an experience of color as it applies to you.
Color is energy affecting your whole being; physically, emotionally, mentally and spiritually. Color is a means to assess people's personality and helps us to better understand more about ourselves.
Color harmonies bring about balance and smooth transition into every phase of our lives."
INTERIOR DESIGN l CONNECTICUT
I love talking to people and listening to their stories.
I’m fascinated by shape, proportion and scale; I have a gift for fitting things together and in their place.
I always look to nature for inspiration.....
It is the perfect aesthetic in every way, crafted over millions of years to the pinnacle of form and function.
I’m slightly over the edge with organization, very efficient, and precise.
Caring is my competitive advantage, and it is an advantage that takes a lot effort. I care about being better than “good enough”. Caring involves raising that bar to the point where the team has to stretch.
I expect my team to stretch.
I hope when you get to know me, I have earned the position of the honest broker which is often a time-consuming task.
Losing it takes just a moment...
